 Invitation to Artists: Artists who work in oils, watercolors, graphic arts, photography and 3-dimensional art work are invited to apply for a one-month, one person show at the Freeport Memorial Library in 2011-2012. The Freeport Memorial Library’s exhibit is one of the truly public free art spaces on Long Island. Every person who enters the Library will view the work because it will exhibit in the lobby, not in a locked, inaccessible room. The artist may hold a reception in the same space. There is no fee involved. Juried Art Show: 3rd Annual Art Show in the Hamptons. Top 25 entries shown in group show opening 4/30/11 in Bridgehampton. Best in Show wins solo exhibit. $50.00 per entry, limit 3 entries. Bang On Records Studios – $3,000 Private Voice Lesson Scholarship: Bang On Records Studios is awarding a full one year hardship scholarship for free private voice lessons to a deserving singer in the Long Island, NY area. This scholarship is open to singers who are at least 13 years of age and aspire to be a professional vocalist but lack the financial resources for professional vocal training. Those who apply will be considered on the basis of artistic ability, demonstrated financial need, drive and determination. Applicants must be legal US residents and have weekly transportation to Bang On Records Studios in Bellmore, NY. Call For Artists: The South Street Gallery, 18 South Street, Greenport, NY 11944, is sponsoring an art show and sale entitled “10 x 10 = 100” to benefit The North Fork Environmental Council and The Robert L. Perry Day Care Center. South Street is providing artists with 10” X 10” cradled birch plywood boards. Each work will be sold for $100. The artist will get $25. Boards may be picked up Thursday through Monday, 12 to 5pm. There is a $7.00 per board registration fee. Information at Preview: Friday, December 10. Sale begins: Saturday, December 11, 6 pm. Krappy Kamera Competition: Soho Photo Gallery announces its Thirteenth International Juried Krappy Kamera Competition.
