NCMA
The Nassau County Museum of Art is the kind of organization whose name would grace your resume, and you may have the opportunity to include it on your vita as a volunteer starting immediately. This Examiner will prime the pump by here offering his occasional expertise and advice as a former photographer of fine art to the Nassau County Museum of Art. NCMA, send me a note and my people will contact your people.
The rest of you, get out there and volunteer for the love of art, just like your Examiner.
Greeting visitors at the main museum building, the Arnold & Joan Saltzman Fine Art Building, or The Art Space for Children, assisting in the Museum Shop, and general office support are just some of the opportunities open to volunteers at Nassau County Museum of Art (NCMA) in Roslyn Harbor.
NCMA is especially interested in hearing from potential volunteers with experience in retail selling and particularly those who would be available to staff the Museum Shop on weekends.
What is required for all volunteer positions at NCMA is enthusiasm for museum work, willingness to learn and the wish to become a meaningful part of the museum’s mission of service to the community.
To find out more about volunteer opportunities at NCMA, call Nancy Barone,
Director of Volunteers, at (516) 484-9338, ext. 31.
Nassau County Museum of Art is located at One Museum Drive (just off Northern Boulevard, Route 25A) in Roslyn Harbor. Call (516) 484-9337 for current exhibitions, events, days/times, and directions.
Nassau County Museum of Art is chartered and accredited under the laws of New York State as a not-for-profit private educational institution and museum. It is operated by a privately elected board of trustees which is responsible for its governance. The museum is funded through income derived from admissions, parking, membership, special events and private and corporate donations as well as federal and state grants.
